Display with high performance

The display has a 16:10 format and a size of 8.4 inches with the resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels , very high, which translates into a high pixel density and clear display. It does not completely convince us of its luminosity that is inferior to that of its predecessor. We can say that at 92%, the brightness distribution is fairly uniform, but problems may occur during use.

It has rounded corners, which make it pleasant to the touch. It weighs only 316 grams,  in the market average if we consider the tablet sector.

The tablet features a 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera. If you are in normal weather conditions, you will take clear, clean photos. In adverse conditions, blurred details will appear. You can record videos using the main camera in 4K mode.

Memory of the Huawei M5

The MediaPad M5 8.4 is sold with 32 GB of memory and 4 GB of RAM.  You can expand the memory with the use of a microSD card up to 128 GB.

It features a 3.5mm audio port,  and USB-C is used for audio playback.

The operating system is based on Android 8 with Huawei’s EMUI. We find a lot of pre-installed applications, but only some are really useful. The presence of a file manager, an application for the selection of various projects and a notepad is interesting.

Its GPS is the only negative aspect that we find. We decided to test it by chance, and we realized that it does not work at its best. It takes some time before it reacts, and can find enough satellites to locate a point or a person with an accuracy of 5 meters. In short, it works, but it is not precise and impeccable as you might expect.

Battery of the Huawei M5 tablet

It boasts a 5000 mAh battery capacity. Though it is not the biggest, it behaves very well. Using the tablet in a frenetic way, continuously and displaying videos or TV series via Google Play Music and Netflix, the battery will last for 6 hours. This means that you can easily get to 8 hours of life with an average battery use.

It’s portable and runs fast. The combination of metal and glass in its soft lines is impeccable. It has good software quality and autonomy remains in the market average for devices of this magnitude.

The screen is not bad, even if overall does not give anything striking or particular. We can therefore say that, considering every detail, is among the decent Android tablet that is on a medium budget.

If you are not looking for a pro product, you have found what will be right for you!
