Design & Display

As mentioned in the beginning, the MEIIGOO Note 8 is Samsung Note 8 clone which comes with a 18:9 full-screen design. For first glance, it looks quite similar to the Galaxy Note 8. But actually, it’s a bit smaller. The MEIIGOO Note 8 comes with a 5.99-inch display which is slightly rounded from the corners and protected by the metal frame. The resolution of the display is 2160×1080 Pixel. So, it’s clear and bright quality. The design of rear cover is the same as Galaxy Note 8 – a cool black bar on the rear panel. This is where the dual rear camera and fingerprint sensor are located. The rear panel is covered with a glossy glass that makes it look more premium. The one we review here is black. Hardware & OS

In terms of hardware, obviously, the MEIIGOO Note 8 will not be equipped like the Galaxy Note 8 because of its low price. But its specs meets it price range. The MEIIGOO Note 8 comes with MediaTek MT6750T Octa-core processor and Mali T860 MP2 GPU. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM. The storage space can be extended up to 256GB using microSD card. The MEIIGOO Note 8 is running on Android 7.1 Nougat out of box and will get the next update for sure.

Benchmark Scores: Antutu & Geekbench

In order to measure the hardware performance of the MEIIGOO Note 8, we installed Antutu and Geekbench 4 to run the scores. As the screen shot shown below, we can see the the phone runs with an average Antutu score of 38,434 points. While on Geekbench 4, it has a single-core score of 613, and an average multi-core score of 2320.

As for cameras, the MEIIGOO Note 8 is equipped with dual rear camera with 13MP and 5MP sensors with bokeh, depth of field and black and white function. It supports to shoot video at resolution of 1080p at 30fps. The selfie camera features a 5MP sensor and has the Sony Exmore RS sensor for the better performance in low light. The MEIIGOO Note 8 also supports Face ID.

The Note 8 is powered by a 3300mAh battery that is enough for casual use of smartphone. In general, it can run around one day with a full charge. The charging time of the battery is also quick, with a high power adapter.
